It's summertime, and the living is easy!

I am now officially done with my third year of teaching! HELLOOOOOOOOO SUMMER! I can't wait to kick back and enjoy my time off. My 5th grade crew kept me BUSY this year...they were a lively bunch!

I am starting the process of getting my Masters in Administration this summer. I will be taking two classes in June and two in July. They are all online so I can set my own schedule. Thank goodness for technology advancements!

I don't have much else on my agenda, which is WONDERFUL! We celebrate our 1 year anniversary in two weeks. I can't believe it has already been a year since the wedding...time flies, no doubt!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Weekend!!!

April Recap!

Here is a quick update of what Ryan and I have been doing lately. The end of the school year is a super busy time for me so I have been neglecting my blogging. I promise to do a better job when school is out!

We went to the lake with my parents and Charley a couple of weekends ago. The lake is such a relaxing place. Ryan and I really enjoy getting away from everything down there. Our cell phones don't work, no computers, no annoying neighbors...it is wonderful! We are both looking forward to spending some quality time down there this summer. Here are some pictures from the weekend:

I also have been trying to get some decorating done in my house. Mr. Jimmy recently refinished an old pedestal oak table for us. My mom finally found the perfect set of chairs to go with the table when she was out antiquing a few weeks ago. They just needed a little face lift. We recovered the seats last weekend, and they look perfect around the table!

We also recovered our kitchen table chairs and bought fabric to make a cushion for our church pew bench at the back door. I will post pictures of those projects later!

This weekend was devoted to yard work. Mr. Jimmy came up to deliver lots of beautiful plants and help us get everything looking just right. (Ryan and I sure do have some great parents!) We got lots of things planted in the front and back yard...can't wait to watch everything get bigger! Our little yard has come a long way since we bought the house. I will have to see if I can find a picture of the backyard when we first moved in, it was in some kind of shape!

Ryan and Mr. Jimmy relaxing and admiring their hard work!

One corner of the back yard...this place had no grass and no flower beds when we bought it!

We planted a few more plants in the front beds. They were looking a little bare!

Our next project...a brick patio for the backyard! Wish us luck! =D
