Fun-filled Weekend

We had another fun and busy weekend! We went to Darlington for Jack's 5th Birthday party. Ryan and I took Addy to the party and then brought her back up to Columbia for the rest of the weekend. We took her to Village Idiot for some pizza and Marble Slab for some ice cream. Yum! On Sunday, we took her to EdVenture. She really wore us out! Having Addy for just one night was a really good form of birth control! Ryan and I had fun with her, but we are not ready for one of our own! Here are some pics from the weekend...

I guess we wore her out too! :)
This is pretty much my last week of summer fun. Boooo! I have to start getting my new classroom ready next week. I'm excited to start the year at my new school but so sad to see my summer end! I gotta make the best of these last few days. Today, I cleaned the entire house from floor to ceiling so now I can have some time to just play! :)

Weekend Recap

This post is actually a recap of the past two weekends. I was a little lazy last week with posting. I can feel my summer vacay slipping away so I can't help but be a little lazy!

Last weekend we went home to good ol' D-town to celebrate Addy's 4th birthday. She had a pool party at my parent's house with all of her little friends from school. Very fun! Here is a shot of the birthday girl enjoying her cake and ice cream...

While we were home we also did some visiting with our families. We went out to eat on Friday night with my parents and enjoyed some pizza on Saturday night with Ryan's parents. We love having both of our families in the same place. On Sunday we had some quality play time with Addy and Charley. We rode them on the golf cart, let them play with Marley and Gonzo, and pushed them on the swings. They are too cute and too funny! I love spending time with those girls. Addy is coming to spend the night with us this weekend...can't wait! Here are some pics of the girls lovin' on their Uncle Ry Ry...

On Friday I had lunch with two of my best buds, Margaret and Courtney. We ate at the Midnight Rooster (YUM!) in Hartsville. We laughed pretty much through the entire lunch. When we get together that is a pretty typical thing! After lunch we moseyed on down to our friend Tamara's new store Blush - A Merle Norman Studio. Tamara gave us facials and makeovers. It was amazing! I got some new makeup products that I am super stoked about. Hopefully, I can make it look like Tamara did! Everyone should check out her store...you will love it!

This past Saturday was a busy but productive one. My parents came up to help us tackle our backyard project. Thank goodness they offered to come and help. The four of us worked for about 10 hours on that yard! We made flower beds, put straw in the flower beds, devised a plan to keep Marley from jumping over our fence, put up the hammock that Garrick gave us, made a walkway up to our shed, planted flowers in my planters, and cut down some unwanted trees in the backyard. Whew! We were getting work done out there! Even though it was some hard work we had a great time. The yard looks beautiful! We can actually go out there and enjoy ourselves now. The next project is making a little patio for our table and laying sod. I hope we can get some more help from my parents again . (hint, hint if y'all are reading this) Here are some finished product pictures...

Ryan and I finished off our weekend with a trip to Tako Sushi. The food was delicious! Their menu has both southwestern food and sushi. It is my new favorite place. The rolls that we had were some of the best ever. I can't wait to go back! It was the perfect end to a great weekend! :)
I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Thanks for reading! xoxo

No Problem Mon!

Ryan and I went on our honeymoon last week. It was WONDERFUL! We stayed at Couples Negril in Negril, Jamaica. I absolutely loved everything about this country. Life is definitely in slow motion there. It was a nice change of pace for us. All day long we sat on the beach and sipped fruity drinks. We didn't even have to go to the bar to get them...we just put up our little red beach flag, and the ladies would take our order and bring us the drinks. Pretty much the best thing ever! My most favorite drink was the Dirty Banana! I'm starting to crave one just thinking about it.

I highly recommend this resort. Everything was just great! The food was amazing and always at your fingertips. I literally wanted to leave all my clothes and just pack my suitcase full of the jerk chicken they made. The place was beautiful. (Except for the nude beach...not much beauty there. Mostly just old, saggy people!) The staff was super duper nice. They were some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I loved to hear them talk. Jamaican accents are so great, mon! There were even traveling musician men who walked around on the beach singing all of my favorite reggae tunes. Life just doesn't get much better!

I just loved it! Ryan and I had such a good time together. I wish we could go on our honeymoon every week! Now that would be ideal...

Happy Birthday Addison!

Today is my niece Addison's birthday. I cannot believe that Addie is four years old today! Time sure has flown by. It seems like just yesterday when I got that late night phone call from my parents telling me that Ashley had to have the baby early. I was soooo worried because it was WAY too early...almost 2 and a half months early. I was totally scared for my sister and the sweet baby girl we were all so excited to meet. Thanks to countless prayers and the amazing staff at the McLeod NICU Addie was just fine. She had to spend a few months in the NICU, but she was full of spunk and spirit...a true fighter!

Addie is a joy to our family! She is hilarious, smart as a whip, and super duper cute. She gets all that from her Aunt Kat! ;) Addie definitely keeps us laughing. Today, I called to wish her a happy birthday and her reply was, "Happy Birthday to you too, Kat!" Haha...such a loving little child. The kid can even identify a hexagon. My 5th graders can't even do that! I sure do love that little munchkin! Ryan and I can't wait for her to come visit us this summer so we can take her to EdVenture. That trip promises to be entertaining!

Addie- I hope you have the best birthday ever! I can't wait for your pool party next weekend. Aunt Kat and Uncle Ry Ry love you so much!!!! :)

Check out these pictures of Addie through the years...
